Bistro Manager

Outlaw’s Bistro is looking for an experienced Bistro Manager to lead our front-of-house team and help deliver warm, relaxed and memorable hospitality in our Guest House in the heart of Port Isaac.

Working closely with Nathan, our general manager and the senior team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Bistro, ensuring every guest receives outstanding service while maintaining the highest standards throughout the business.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience in a management role within a quality restaurant, bistro or hospitality environment
  • Is passionate about food, wine and hospitality
  • Leads by example and enjoys developing and motivating a team
  • Has excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Understands the importance of delivering exceptional guest experiences
  • Thrives in a busy, service-led environment
  • Has strong attention to detail and high personal standards

The Role

  • Leading and inspiring the front-of-house team
  • Ensuring smooth daily operations across the Bistro and Guest House
  • Maintaining exceptional service standards
  • Supporting staff training and development
  • Working closely with the kitchen and owners
  • Helping drive sales while ensuring an outstanding guest experience
  • Managing bookings, guest relations and service delivery

Guest House Host

About You

You will:

  • Have previous experience in hospitality, guest services, reception or a customer-facing role
  • Be naturally welcoming, friendly and professional
  • Have excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Enjoy building rapport with guests and anticipating their needs
  • Be confident handling bookings, reservations and guest enquiries
  • Have strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards
  • Be self-motivated and comfortable working independently when required
  • Thrive in a busy, guest-focused environment

The Role

Responsibilities include:

  • Welcoming guests and managing check-ins and departures
  • Handling guest communications via telephone, email and online booking platforms
  • Managing reservations and maintaining booking systems
  • Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner for guesthouse residents
  • Assisting guests throughout their stay and providing local recommendations
  • Opening and closing the guesthouse and bistro as required
  • Coordinating with housekeeping and the wider team to ensure rooms are prepared to the highest standards
  • Managing guest feedback and helping resolve any issues professionally and efficiently
  • Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the guesthouse

Join Outlaw’s as a Front of House Senior team member and be at the heart of the action. You’ll help deliver the smooth running of the day, with a focus on service and guest satisfaction. 

Hands-on, and customer-focused; this role requires teamwork, initiative, and a passion for great food and service. If you’re proactive, natural with guests, and confident with product knowledge, you’ll thrive here.

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate experience in restaurants or the hospitality industry serving guest regularly, with a good understanding of order of service, food and drink service, and customer relations.

  • Position: Front of House Senior. Full Time and Part Time available
  • Salary: £27,500 per annum, plus share of tips

Front of House Junior

Front of House Junior

Join Outlaw’s as a Front of House Junior and be part of the team delivering warm, efficient service at Outlaw’s Guest House Bistro. You’ll support the smooth running of each service: Welcoming guests, taking orders, clearing and resetting tables, assisting with drinks and food service, and maintaining high standards of guest satisfaction.

This hands-on, customer focused role suits someone with 1 year or more hospitality experience, or strong customer service skills who’s eager to learn, reliable, enjoys working in a team, and takes pride in what they do.

  • Location: Outlaw’s Guest House Bistro
  • Position: Front of House Junior. Full Time and Part Time available
  • Salary: £12.71 per hour, plus share of tips
  • Minimum experience required: 1 years in similar role or hospitality
